Welcome to Nursery

At Radnor House Sevenoaks, the magic of Pre-Prep begins in our preschool from a child’s second birthday.

Our philosophy is to provide the very best in Early Years care and pre-school education within a happy, nurturing environment. Children embark on a rich learning journey, supported through a balanced mix of teacher-led and child-initiated, play-based activities both indoors and outdoors.

Every day is an adventure, full of opportunities to develop curiosity, creativity and confidence, while laying the important foundations that ensure a smooth and confident transition from home to school, into Reception and beyond.

The Learning Environment

Class sizes are intentionally small, allowing our highly qualified and experienced staff to provide individual attention. Children engage in well-planned experiences that foster their knowledge, understanding, and critical skills across all areas of the curriculum including Forest School, French, PE, Swimming, Performing Arts, and Library sessions.

Our outdoor play and learning area offer a magical, multi-sensory environment where children can explore, investigate and build confidence. First steps away from home are treated as special milestones and we support children in developing independence and a love of learning from the very start.

Nursery children benefit from mixed-age classes, which allow activities to be tailored to each child’s individual developmental stage rather than age. This approach ensures that every child can flourish at their own pace, building strong social, academic and physical foundations in a caring and supportive setting.

Our dedicated Nursery classrooms connect to a secure outdoor play area, complete with play equipment, a sandpit, mud kitchen, Forest School area, and a story corner. Children also enjoy access to other school facilities, including the swimming pool, sports hall, Prep library, wrap care spaces and 30 acres of beautiful grounds.

The first thing you notice when you walk in is the genuinely warm and caring staff who make the whole thing feel very much like an extension of the family
